Courtney Hanson

Paralegal

Courtney was born in Rancho Mirage, California, and raised in and around the Coachella Valley. Yes, she says, that Coachella. Moving to Utah in 2016, Courtney worked for 4 years in the mortgage industry, on both the lender and appraisal management side. Though, in 2020, she began working as a legal assistant for another firm, finding the legal field her true calling.

Courtney began working with Kelly in February 2021 as his paralegal. She has helped draft many documents in estate planning, business planning, trust and probate administration, and some litigation.

Originally an English major, Courtney has since changed her major at Salt Lake Community College in order to obtain her Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies. Once finishing her degree, she plans on sitting for her paralegal certificate for the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). Not stopping there, she hopes to one day receive her paralegal practitioner's license.

Outside of work, you can find Courtney curled on her couch reading a book, watching tv, or studying for yet another exam. She can also be found being the personal assistant to her two cats, Frances and Arya. Otherwise, you can find Courtney exploring around the valley with her girlfriend, Taegen.

While she has found a home and community in Utah, Courtney's heart will always be found in Southern California. More specifically, the beach or at Disneyland. Any chance she can, she is visiting with old friends and crying every time she meets her favorite princess at Disneyland (who is Belle, if you were curious).

Courtney can also always be in the middle of planning a trip, either to see live theater or to explore and experience different cultures. Often, the two go hand in hand. She has visited many European countries and a handful of American cities. She has also had the honor of seeing plays across the country and a couple on the West End such as Les Miserables, Hamilton (5 times and in 5 different cities), In the Heights, Waitress, Mary Poppins, and Jekyll and Hyde.
